Curating The Perfect Bedtime.

Having a perfect bedtime routine is so important. In this day of constant connection it is hard to properly disconnect at the end of the day and get that much needed rest. sleep is vital to our overall health and when we don’t sleep well we suffer.

But there are a few things that you can do to to curate the perfect bedtime routine.

1: Blackout the room. It is recommended that we sleep in a completely darkened room. According to the experts darkness helps aid in the production of melatonin, a hormone that helps us sleep. It also can help with relaxation.

2: Bedroom temperature. The temperature of the room is very important and it is recommended that room temp be around 20 degrees. A higher temperature can make you restless and cause discomfort as well as affecting the quality of your sleep. Try a fan or setting the aircon, choose natural bedding that that breathes, and helps with temperature regulation such as bamboo/cotton, and plenty of water.

3: Write a to do list for the next day. Writing down all of those little things that plague those last moments of the day gets them out of your head. Try this with worries, left over work, or chores.

4: Lastly try a calming drink before bed. Any of our herbal blends work well as they have no tea leaves in them. This means no caffeine. Pyjama Party contains peppermint which can aid in digestion as well as being a natural sedative. Calm Your Farm contains Chamomile and Lavender which are great for relaxation.

Whatever way you choose or whatever habits you put in place the main things to remember is that firstly there is no one way to achieve this goal. You need to find what works for you. Secondly it’s important to remember that you deserve to be healthy and living your best life. Find those things that fit in your life and be fierce I keeping them.
